King Neptune is the king of the sea, but he is a god. His name is used in phrases like ‘Dear Neptune’ and ‘Neptune preserve her’, but he has never been worshiped like a god. He first appeared in ‘Neptune’s Spatula’ when Spongebob pulled the golden spatula from the grease. He challenges Spongebob to a cook-off, where if he wins he must become an Atlantean god, or if he loses he must give up fry cooing forever. The first one to make 10,000 patties. Spongebob makes only 1, but it tastes much betters than Neptune’s 10,000. Spongebob teaches Neptune that perfect patties are made with love, not magic. Neptune plays a main role in The Spongebob Movie, but he looks different, and is more a king than a god. He is a very mean ruler and gives harsh punishments.
